Which belt should you start with?

Belt levels describe the role a person takes in improvement projects. White and Yellow Belts give everyone on the shop floor a common language. Green Belts are engineers and specialists who run data-driven projects in their own area. Black Belts lead wide-scope, strategic projects and coach Green Belts.

We can decide together which combination suits your organisation, based on the number of projects you aim for and your current capability. Programmes can be scheduled as public classroom courses or in-house.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions.

What is the difference between a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt?

A Green Belt learns the core techniques of data-driven problem solving with DMAIC and focuses on running projects in their own area. A Black Belt develops into a change leader who manages strategic, wide-scope projects using advanced statistics, Design of Experiments (DoE), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC), and coaches Green Belts.

Can I join the Black Belt programme without a Green Belt?

Yes. The Black Belt programme also covers the fundamentals. Certified Green Belts can choose the Black Belt Upgrade instead, which moves to the advanced level without repeating the same content.

Is the training face to face?

Yes. Belt programmes are delivered face to face as hands-on classroom training led by Abbas Erdenal and are supported by real projects. In-house programmes can also be arranged.

In which languages is the training delivered?

Training can be delivered in Turkish or English.

Is “Yalın 6 Sigma” the same as Lean Six Sigma?

Yes. Yalın 6 Sigma and Yalın Altı Sigma are the Turkish names for Lean Six Sigma. The belt levels and the DMAIC project structure are the same.

Do the programmes include real projects?

Yes. In the Green and Black Belt programmes each participant runs a problem from their own organisation as a project, with coaching throughout. White and Yellow Belt participants take on a small improvement opportunity from their own area as a team.
